Hi, back 3-4 weeks ago, my Polaris booster pump (PB4-60) was malfunctioning by giving me continuous humming noise which lasted few minutes before pump got shut down. Since the pump was 10+ years old, the pool guy recommended pump replacement. Pump replaced and only worked for few hours. Capacitor got blown, capacitor replaced and the pump only worked 1 hr or so. Fuse got tripped and I am not wondering what can be wrong?

Any advise? Thanks.

Have an licensed electrician check the line from your breaker box to the pump.

My best guess is a corroded junction somewhere in the line, which will reduce the amount of electricity (volts/amps) available to the motor. Undervolting or limiting the current to a pump motor causes them to overheat, and do pretty much what you described.

Thanks a lot - would pool maintenance folks know this or it should be electrician?

I'd say probably your best bet is to hire an electrician.
