I just replaced my liner and after filling notice a leak under the pump housing, I replaced housing gasket, no luck. Bought seal assembly kit replaced impeller gasket, spring loaded gasket and ceramic seal. After putting back together pump hums but does not run and trips breaker. Disassembled and tried running motor with no housing and no impeller, motor turned very slow then kicked breaker. Checked to see if impeller stuck turned freely

Two questions where does the spring on end of shaft in wiring area go?
And could the bearings be shot now? Or is it capacitor or wiring?

If you turn the motor on and spin shaft manually and the motor spins up, the capacitor is bad. But fix the spring first and see if it starts on its own.

The spring may be from the centrifugal switch that sites on the end of the shaft. It holds the switch closed when the motor is off. You can see the spring in this photo:

Thnaks for the help, it was the spring! My 1 hp super pump only has one spring and it sits on top of the switch, once I attached the spring properly it fired right up.
I also replaced the ceramic seal and spring seal to fix the leak in the pump and that was the remedy for that problem, all is good now

Thanks
