I'm new to pool ownership and live in the midwest. I have an 18' 52"high above ground pool and the water is crystal clear and looks really refreshing, however once you get in it's like a hot tub!

Was wondering what to do to keep the water cooler.....I have an open backyard with no shade.

Thanks for any help!

Some people find that if they run the water through solar panels at night, they get some cooling.

Just run your pump at night. Circulating the water past the pool sides will cool it down if your night temps are cool. You don't necessarily need solar panels.

I have a friend who places gallon jugs of water into his chest freezer, then tosses them into his pool after they've frozen solid. He says it can make a dramatic difference.
