Wondering about sand or pad to put under liner?

I am setting up a 24 x 52 above ground pool and I have a new liner and was wondering if I should use sand or one of those gorilla pads that are out there. I am placing my pool on some land that has been leveled with a transit. I am just concerned because there was a lot of sand stone rocks in the area we had leveled. I do not want them to come back up and put a hole in my liner. Help Please !! Thank you

Do both. That is what I always do --- a bed of sand and then a foam pad of some type on top of the sand.
