20k gallon 16-32 ig vinly liner pool. opened 3 weeks ago very black/green. sand filter
ive pounded it over the weeks with high fc readings and have tried to maintain a 3 or more fc daily. i have slipped onece or twice and its dropped to .5 to 1 so i shocked after this to 15ppm. (current cya under 10).
ive vacuumed several times and finally see the deep end drain. 85 pct clear on deep end-100% shallow end.
i get accumulations of dirt/sand looking silt where the floor contours. I vacuum and still feel like i get it a day or so later.I dont believe its sand from the filter but more hopefully dead algae. It appears to be a brown/dark green color. if i brush it i see the stuff flow away with the brush and darken the water up as i re-stir it all in. CC readings are always barley .5ppm. ive been running the filter but not 24/7 and more like 12-14 hrs a day.
if i shine a bright flash light in the water i see white particuate floating and its hazy.I learned a lot over the yrs but wanted some feedback on clarifers. Looks enticing to buy a 15 dollar clarifer and be able to vacuum all that matter floating in there away.
im having a hard time determining if i have new algae forming or if this is just the old stuff slowly falling and going way. If it is dead algae, how recommended are clarifers. ive always used the bbb method with results, but often longer and more taxing than expected.
thanks
