Can you use regular pressure treated 4x8 plywood from your local home building supply store, or it it a special treated wood you have to use.

Hopefully one of the construction guys on the forum will be by to see this shortly and give you an opinion, but in the meantime you can search the forum using the google search link in my sig, although you will have to log out to see the results until your registration is complete.

We did that for our first pool and believe it or not, just used a silage tarp for liner. It worked just fine.

I meant to say we used regular plywood for our first pool and worked fine. We called it our "Redneck" pool, but hey it worked great and we saved a LOT of money. The water was crystal clear with a sand pump and we enjoyed swimming it it. Now we are moving up to a bigger pool. It is our "Hillbilly" pool. We used grain bin rings (buried in the ground) and a regular vinyl pool liner. We have had a hard time adjusting the chemistry (we use stream water), but it is getting better every day.

I can tell you that most PT plywood is NOT rated for ground contact. Beyond that, I don't know.
