Hi,

I have a 24' round above ground pool, and I have a question about the light.

The light I already have, is the kind that is built into the return port. a foot or so from the skimmer.

The light is not working, I suspect the bulb burned out.

My question is, since the pool is already filled, is there a way to take out the return port, and replace the bulb?

Would it be easier to buy a new return port with a light?

I would assume it would be easier to do when I open the pool next summer, since the water level will be below the return port. But I would like to be able to have a light in the pool this summer.

Thanks!!

I don't even have my pool yet, so can't speak to your existing light but I can share what we chose to do for this year. Walmart has battery operated magnetic LED lights that are cheap! I read about them on here I think, I'm going to lubricate the o-ring like I read on the comments to help keep a water tight seal but the $20 for 4 lights was an easier pill to swallow. We can add different ones next year if these are for some reason inadequate, based on reviews I'm expecting them to work well! I'll have to post back when I find out :-)

Here's a link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Goodtimes-LED-Light-2-Pack-With-Remote/20896253

BTW: I saw these same lights on a pool site and they wanted $33 each for them!! I'll take 2 for $10, thanks :-)

Bethy,
Please do post back when you try these. I've never even heard of them before.
