Okay - my 15x30 AG pool WILL BE installed by the end of the week (should have been done yesterday but they were missing some pieces??) by my calculation it is 13,750 gal. I have received the PS234 test kit. Here's my questions:
1) should I pretest some of my tap water so I know where I'm starting?
2) pool is coming with "1st 2 weeks of chemicals" - are there any things the installer might have to put in that I need to definitely say, NO, NOT IN MY POOL!!
3) Any suggestions as to quantities of B&B&B I need to have on hand right off the bat??
4) Any other things I need to have on hand initially.

Sorry if these things are answered over at poolsolutions, but I don't have my subscriber access yet.

Thanks for any info - I am so looking forward to proving to "sweetie" that I can do this without all the other "stuff". I took care of a similar size pool when I was a teenager (early 70's) but we used the chlorine tablets, etc.

It sure wouldn't hurt to test your tap water, so you know your starting point--and it'll help us tell you what you need to get and be prepared to add. The only thing off the top of my head that I wouldn't let an installer put into a new pool startup would be anything that contains copper, or anything really other than chlorine, CYA, or acid.
