Opened pool 2 weeks ago. Went to local pool store had water tested. Added Calcium, ph down iron out and then chlorine (that was 2 weeks ago. Couldn't hold the chlorine after shocking (lost after 2 days). Water has been milky white or cloudy ever since. Sunday I super shocked by adding 12 lbs of chlorine and I still have the same milky/cloudy water. Dont know what to do. Have own a pool for the last 20 years....Help

We need to have test results, taken with a drop-based kit to be able to tell you anything useful--without them, we'd just be guessing. What type of pool (liner, fiberglass, etc), what exact chemicals (ingredients, not just "shock") have you put into the pool, and what are your current readings for Cl, pH, alk, CH, and CYA?

You need to avoid adding anything the pool store tells you to add EXCEPT what's needed to maintain chlorine levels OR to keep the pH above 7 or below 8.
And you need to learn to test your water accurately. A few pool stores have reliable testing, but most don't. The only way to you ca tell the difference, is to test your pool accurately yourself . . . but once you can do that, you don't need the pool store!
