Please help I have a dark brown line of dots that is just above the water line .. I have an above ground Doughboy pool Using chlorine.... I have tryed a lot of things to remove the stain but nothing really works . Scrubbing helps , but won't remove it . Use clorine tabs , tested for minerals , copper , various cleaners above the rim? Any suggestions ?

Have you tried a paste made from baking soda and water?

I have a dark brown line of dots that is just above the water line

How old is the liner?
Have the dots appeared suddenly, or over a period of years?

Thanks so much for your responce , The liner is about 6 years old . The spots began about 2 years ago just all of a sudden . I have ben fighting this for a while . If I scrub on them they do fade a bit , but are still very noriceable

It sounds more like deterioration of the liner than anything else -- but if you'll send pictures to poolforum@gmail.com, that will make it much more likely that the problem can be correctly identified.

Sorry, I got overwhelmed with traffic -- and it slipped my mind. I'll try to post them today.

I've never seen anything like that, but most of my work has been with concrete pools. However it does not look like something coming from the pool. My guess is either something with the liner itself, OR something behind the liner. I'll ask Waste, who's done a lot of work with liners, to look it it when I get them posted.

But, I'm not hopeful that it's something you can 'clean' away.
