You are welcome! Do you have a good test kit? If not, do yourself a favor and order the Taylor K-2006 or 2006C from the test kit page in my signature above.

just the HTH 6 way from walmart.
would look at your test kit but clicking on your sig just tells me i am unauthorized :(
bought ph - from lowes and got the ph down...can see the bottom now but still a way to go.
cold and wet here this week anyway.

thanks Watermon and PoolDoc,
been away for a while with family issues.
Since last here water has cleared nicely and ph is under control.
had to replace hayward pump. due to leaky shaft seals, could not keep prime for vacuuming.
all cleaned up now...but skimmer has developed leak...it never ends!
tried patching, but there are a number of hairline cracks and can't seem to get it water tight.
it is 9+ yrs old, so replacing it will be my next pool project (after july 4 family party).
any advice on where to buy, or pitfalls to avoid ?
