I installed a new above ground pool this weekend and have issues with sand deposits coming from my Hayward pool filter. I did a back wash, rinse and waste flush with no help. If this helps with the answer I did turn the valve one time without turning off the pump.....I know bad move but need to resolve the sand deposits. It happens during the recirc mode after I spend several minutes sweeping up the previous cycles deposits.
Any help would be appreciated in resolving this issue.

If you have sand blowing back into the pool, it's usually a filter problem, the most frequent one being a cracked or broken lateral in the filter. Has it done this since it was installed, or is it a newly occurring problem?
What size pump and filter do you have? It is possible the pump is overpowering it and forcing the sand through the filter, but one of the equipment guys around here will have to comment on that....

The filter worked great last year without issue. The pool was replaced using the existing 1HP Hayward pump and Hayward 244T Sand Filter. I did clean the filter by removing the top and flushing water through the center pipe to remove any debris build up while in storage. The sand discharge seems to be getting smaller each time.

That's the same setup I have.
Generally, cracked laterals are the reason for the sand blowing into the pool. However, mine does this occasionally when the spider gasket on the multiport needs to be changed. I can't explain why it happens, but it does happen almost every year....I'll get a very short burst of zeo through my returns when turning the pump on--no more than 3-5 seconds, then the zeo stops blowing into the pool. However, if you're not diligent about vac'ing it all up, it can create quite a pile after awhile. Yesterday I replaced the spider gasket, and since then, no more zeo in the pool. It's worth a shot--the gasket was $15.50, and a LOT easier to change out than emptying all that sand to check the laterals!!

I will try that step first in hope of clearing up the issues.
Thank you :)
