Ok..there are my specs. I have been browsing (lurking) and learning from these forums since 2003 when I first got my AG pool (thanks to pooldoc, watermom, and others). I've stuck with bleach, borax, and baking soda, and been fine. Now it's time for a new pump and filter, and I can't search the forums without registering. I register...and am restricted to this one thread. What's the deal?

All I want to know is what is the best combo for a Cartridge system for my pool, which is used mostly on weekends. In the past, we used a 2 speed, and had it running constantly on low, unless we were aerating with the waterfall for ph (which wasn't often), or vaccuuming to waste. It's been so long ago...I don't know what capacity my current pump OR filter has, and can't read the info on the equpment anymore it's so faded.

I need to buy a new filtration system. What is the best pump/filtration combo for my AG pool size? Thanks so much.

Hi, and welcome to the group!!

When newly registered folks join, they are restricted to this forun for a bit so we can weed out the spammers and hackers, in an effort to keep the forum safer for the users. When Ben upgrades your registration, you'll have access to the whole forum. In the meantime, you can use the google search feature in my sig to search the other forums, although you may have to log out to read the results.

Just adding my welcome, too! Glad to have you join us and hope that enjoy participating with us.

I am not the equipment guru around here but I will tell you what I have. Until recently, I also had a 24ft AG. (Recently bought a 27ft.) I have a 1/2 hp. full-rated inground pump. I used it on the 24 ft and still using it on my new pool and it is plenty of power. My co-moderator Al (Poconos) was the one who advised me to buy this particular pump and it has worked well for me. It is a Hayward Super Pump. I can't help you select a cartridge filter as I use a sand filter. Someone else can advise you about that.

Here is another thread you might want to read. Until your registration is completed, you'll need to log out to be able to do so.

Thank you all so very much. And now I go searching the forums to get edumacated!

Browsing these forums over the years, I have never failed to notice how kind and helpful you all were to the newbs and uninformed posters. I'm really glad to see the site is still up and running and well maintained again. This is the first place I come to whenever I have a pool related problem. Thanks again.
