Has anyone had experience with a robotic cleaner with an onboard battery that requires no cords or hoses at all?

When my pool was being designed in February, I ran across a website that offered these. You dropped it in and 4-6 hours later, you fished it out and stored it in a wheeled charging base. As I remember, the prices were in the $4,000.00 range.

I haven't been able to locate the website since, nor have I been able to establish whether they work effectively.

I don't like the look of leaving a corded cleaner in the pool. It definitely detracts from the overall appearance, particularly in a natural or lagoon pool.

Sounds like a Maytronics/Dolphin cleaner. There may be others but that is the only one I am aware of.
I have no feedback good or bad regarding the cordless model. It is on the upper end of the pricing spectrum.

http://www.smartpool.com/website/rpc/dl2030.htm I wouldn't think it would be as powerful running off a battery, but who knows maybe it is...

I saw one of these much cheaper at the costco.com website.

I wondered about the cordless models as well, one thing that drove me off was I was thinking that you would have to maually retrieve it, whereas I just gently pull the cord on my dynamic to get it close enough so that I can reach it from the edge. Hopefully they have some mechanism for getting it out of the pool without going in after it.
