Hi from Long Island, NY...first post of the season and my pool cover's not even off yet! I was mowing the lawn around my pool yesterday and noticed that the ground in one area, was wet. Since we had ALOT of rain over the last week, I thought that maybe this was just puddling. Today was dry and the water was still there...so decided to take a look under the pool cover. First, I took part of the cover off near the skimmer and noticed that the water line was an inch or two below the return hole (about 3-4" from bottom of skimmer). Next I lifted the cover in the area where the ground started to get wet. Didn't see anything on the side walls of the liner, but when I looked at the bottom of the pool, I saw what looked like a small bleach mark not too far from the wall, that must have happened last year when I shocked the pool. Using the rubber tip end of my skimmer pole, I checked that area and felt a divet, about the size of a quarter in the sand around the mark (which was center). I did not see any tear or rip and I know the divet was not there when I closed the pool last year...I would have noticed it when vacuuming

At this point I don't know if this is a leak or not, but if needed can this divet area be safely repaired using a small patch? If so, will it hold? What about sand that may have eroded? If repair is needed can I leave the divet as is?

I was not going to open the pool for another few weeks. Can I add water to the pool now and repair when I take the cover off? This is will be the 4th season we've had this pool, so it's a fairly new liner (not sure what thickness it is, but can find out if needed).

Thanks for any advice!
