View Full Version : need help reading cya results from K-2006 test kit

I think I may not be reading the cya results correctly. Instructions on K-2006 test kit say "Slowly transfer cloudy solution to small comparator tube until black dot on bottom just disappears when viewed from top." I thought that meant that I should not see the dot at all but my results are always 30. What am I looking for, when the black dot begins to turn gray? I'm using reagent way too fast this way...

The dot has to completely disappear. They don't give you very much CYA reagent, only enough for like 4 or so tests or something like that. You can order the CYA reagent in a large bottle and refill the small one for not TOO much money (around $15 with shipping).
