Seems like this forum has lots of good info. I'm considering getting an above ground pool in Houston and am wondering what's different here. I'd just like to make sure there aren't any big issues before I invest. We would get a big pool even though it's our first because they heat up so much here - a smaller pool would just be a hot tub in July. So I want to get it right. Was reading about installations. Seems sand is good. But wouldn't sand wash away during tropical storms and the ridiculous rains we get here.

I don't know that a large AG pool will be much cooler than a smaller one. Depth is probably a bigger factor, and shade. Having a white bottom or liner will also make a difference.

Other than that . . . I'm afraid AG pool construction is not my area.

Good luck!
