Hi,

I bought a house in Santa Cruz, California which has a pool. I don't know how old it is, but the house was built in 1984. The house was a foreclosure, when we moved in the pool was in a terrible state, we spent about a lot of money on new DE filter, installed a Slatwater system and pumped alot of dirty water out. Two years later it looks pretty good.

After the slime was cleared I found it has a underwater light, about halfway down the pool. It doesn't appear to work but I have no idea where the switch is or how it is connected in. Is there a likely location? I will attach a picture of the only electrical switches in the area when I am allowed to, there is one half way down the pool - which would seem the obvious one - and one by the pump house.

Any suggestions on how I track this down?

Thanks,

Mark

Built in 84 . . . the first thing to look for is a light wiring box ABOVE the pool water level, possibly under the diving board, or just outside the deck nearest the light. If you don't find the light wiring box (usually called a junction box), there's a good chance the light has been abandoned.

Wow...where does the time go, I posted this ages ago, went and took some pictures then got distracted...sorry!

I anyone has time for suggestions, here are some pictures I took that show the only electrical switches anywhere near the pool.

This seems most likey, light is bottom left an this inearest switch panel. It doesn't appear to do anything.

Close up of the switch, I should probably post one with the panel off shouldn't I...

Any suggestions on how to find out where the light goes? Thanks!
