I have a Barracuda MX8 pool cleaner. Should this be left permanently in the pool, or only put in when cleaning is required? Katy.

Sorry, but I don't know. Most cleaners I've worked with can stay in the pool, but they will fade some over time. Here are two suggestions:
1. call or email Barracuda (or their Aussie distributor) and ask them.
2. wait for someone to answer, here. (Keep in mind that this is a US forum, and we're in winter.)

I'm not familiar with Barracudas, but while many pump assist cleaners can stay in the pool, robotics (like Aquabot, Dolphin and Blue Diamond) absolutely cannot, and certainly are not safe when swimming.
