Hey guys,

Eagerly awaiting for the new pool season to arrive. We've had a lot of heavy rain storms come through recently and the water has risen in the pool to the point of touching the cover and I believe it might be up to the coping. What is my best course of action? Do I remove part of the cover and drain out some of the water? If so, how much?

Something else i need to do?

Thanks as always :)

I drained the water so its about 4-5 inches above the returns. Is that an appropriate amount?

It's probably OK.

But to have any confidence in the answers you receive, you'll need to ID your locale AND how you winterized, if you did so. If your skimmers are 'wet' AND below the water level AND you are in freezing area, lowering the water below the skimmer body can result in freezing. But of course, that depends on the relative levels of the skimmer body and your pool returns.
