Hi everyone,
My calcium number now has hit 500, and I've noticed that I had to clean my cell more often on my SWG. When the value was around 300-350, I had to clean it every 5-6 weeks. Now it can't even go 2 weeks without build up.

I have plaster pool with pebble tech finish. Water is crystal clear. Size about 13,000 gallons.
PH: 7.2 (was almost 8 yesterday)
CC: 0
TA: 80
CH: 500
CYA: 70

I've noticed that they now sell a product that can remove calcium without draining part of the water out. Do those work at all?

On draining the pool, is there a calculation that can be used to determine how much water to remove to bring it back down to the 300 level?

I'm concerned about the high level since I have a SWG pool with a cell and a heater.

I don't know about calcium removers but if your fill water has 0 calcium, drain off 20% and refill and you should be around 300ppm. If your fill water has calcium, you'll have to do some simple arithmetic. Supposing your fill water is 100ppm. Drain off 1/2 of 500ppm and refill with 100ppm. You should get 300ppm.

You may also be able to improve your results by simply lowering your t/a further.
