I'm brand new here so please bear with me. Our Aqualink RS6 completely died this morning. The inside control panel and the outside panel will not turn on. We checked for dead fuses and comfirmed power is going to the unit. Not sure what to do here. I know this is an expensive replacement and would like to insure that a purchase is truly necessary. Any troubleshooting advice out there?

I can't help you much with trouble shooting the unit, except to say, check the online manual that is probably available.

But . . . I can tell you that you can (and should) pretend you have a non-SWCG pool, and treat your pool with bleach in the mean time. Add 1 gallon of plain 6% household bleach per 10,000 gallons of pool water each evening, unless the chlorine shows too high.

If you post test results and pool gallons, I can give you more specific info. If you don't have a K2006 or equiv (DPD-FAS chlorine test kit) go purchase a cheap OTO/phenol red kit and use that rather than "guess strips". You'll need to take your water in so you can get a CYA reading --- dealer-read guess strips are somewhat better than consumer-eyeballed strips, though still not very accurate. (Get a K2006!)
