I have been wetting my new pour down for 5 days now. I am starting to notice a couple areas that are darker than the rest of the pour.It is turning mostly a very light grey, almost a white color. Two spots are staying the deeper grey though. Should I be concerned about a bad mix in this area?

I would not be concerned unless the light areas are sandy and can be scrapped out easily. This would be an indication of a to sandy concrete mix and will cause structural problems.

The light areas could also be efflorecense (white powder film). If its efflorecense then have the pool company pressure wash off and apply a very thin coating of hydraulic cement before plastering.

Hope this helps.

Sorry.......................I wasn't very clear on my question. The area that concerned me were the 2 dark area's. 2ft square for each of them. The rest of the pool looks like its curing pretty well except for these two darker area's. Is darker just a heavier mix?
