View Full Version : CYA = 100?

Rather than start a new threat, I'll put my cya question here. My CYA measures at about 100. Two people -- the guy at my local pool store, and the people who do my weekly pool service -- said that levels up to 90 are okay, so they felt 100 was a little high, but not too bad. But elsewhere I see references (like in my Taylor kit) that it should be in the 30-50 range. Sooo, my first question is, is 100 okay or not? And second, is there any way to lower it besides draining out some water and refilling? Thanks in advance.

I moved your post to a new thread -- it was a different problem than the other one.

Read the "Best Guess" page linked in my signature, and then ask questions after. It will cover a lot of what you are asking, I think. And it will also give you the info you need to run a pool with CYA=100 successfully.
