I'm trying to locate ≈ 300 gallon per day leak in a 2ft. elevated pool side gunite spa
I'm unsure of some of my test results ;
what I do know;
tunnel / cave under pool shed reviled nothing
client that doesn't want their slate over concrete & rebar deck violated / diamond saw & jack hammer
air pump & line has been abandoned.
it's not the suction side.
with all 4 extended jet nozzels plugged , spa does't leak down to pool level
regardless of how far I insert inflatable plug into supply line [ within a couple of feet from spa ] leak still occurs.
confusion / uncertainty starts here;
when plugging 2" supply line and pumping air into one of the otherwise plugged nozzels gurgling and water show at the net jet in line?
seems to me with nozzels plugged there shouldn’t be a link to the air side ?
would / do > liquid leak stop products work or be applicable in this situation ?

Hi Tom;
Waste and Waterbear may have some ideas.
But, before I tried to figure out what you may be dealing with, I'd want pictures of the spa, associated pool, and all the piping in between. Mail them to poolforum AT gmail DOT com.
I don't understand your descriptions. For example, you seem to say that you know that the leak is not on the suction side BECAUSE when you plug "all 4 extended jet nozzles" the spa doesn't leak to "pool level". I'm not sure what "extended jet nozzles" are . . . but most pool nozzles I've seen are on the pressure or discharge side, not the suction side. And, when you say it doesn't leak down to pool level, are you saying it leaks down to some other level?
A place to start would be the pictures. Then one of us can probably help you develop a step-by-step approach to identifying the leak's general location.
Liquid leak? Never heard of it working for anyone, and there's a thread in this forum section where folks are reporting the same lack of success as I've seen.

I just added "simple jet" to help get dialog going ... I'm assuming as in diagram p1,Q1 [ water ] is extended by virtue of what I'm calling nozzel to fairly close to "eyeball" on face of spa and there is no jet nozzel squitirting thru & "air gap" deep down in the wet tee that I cant see. in other words air tee is coupled to "throat" and wet nozzels only relation to air side is that it is in the center of the "throat" inducing the air to follow.
PS the bigger your viewing window / the bigger the picture

viewable and/or downloadable pictures on mobile.me
Yahoo won't let me send big pictures.
If I must I'll keep reducing size till it works .. pain in the @3$$

I posted your pictures . . . but it's not at all clear to me what you are asking.
#1. Does the spa leak water into the pool, down to the pool level?
. . or
. . . Does the spa LOSE water, into the ground, down to the pool level?
#2. What is the elevation of the spa inlets, compared to the water level in the pool?
#3. Does the spa leak down ONLY with the spa pump on, or also with it off?
