pool 101

I'd like to put a pool in our yard. We have about 1.3 acres, but the area is very shaley. An in-ground pool would be my first choice, although I'm not sure we'd be able to do it because of the shale. I recently heard about vinyl liner pools and would like to learn the pros and cons as compared to a concrete or insert type pool. If we can't do an inground, I 'll be looking for an above ground pool...probably a 24' round...any advice would be most appreciated.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!!

My advice would be to contact pool installers in your area to see how they deal with the shale, since ultimately that's who you're going to have to deal with. If you decide to go with above-ground, you're going to need a place that is level. I know next to nothing about the construction aspects, but maybe some of the others can come by and offer more useable info. Just wanted to welcome you to the group.......
