Hi all.

Finally got rid of my mess from the spring. I guess it pays to cover your pool properly. If not you have a nightmare. It becomes a bad dream and you cant wake up...LOL

Anyway to keep a long story short I put my cart back in service. I use my sand only for spring cleand up. Once the heavy stuff is out its all cart.

So I bought a new cart and start pressure was 14psi. This is normal from what I remember when pool was new. I run the pool on low speed 16 hours a day. The PSI sits around 4 psi.

OK have not cleaned the filter. It has not gained any pressure and is actually lower. I just vacuumed the pool and got all the air out and the PSI reads 13 psi. Sometimes 12 PSI. I assume the PSI should be going up.

I thought possibly the pump basket had a lot of debris and cleaned but its the same.

I am thinking the filter may be clogged up and the cart housing slightly lifts when on hi speed. I am thinking the positive seal of the cart may be compromised. Basically it may be going over or around the cart. I dont think there is a hole in it. Its new?

OK just a thought and if anyone has any ideas, let me know.

Sounds more like a clogged impeller. Remove the pump basket and reach in through impeller inlet opening at the bottom of the bucket and see if something is stuck in there.

I cleaned the cart and pump basket. PSI went from 12.5 to 14 psi....????????

Whats up with that???

I am going to check the impeller. I dont think I am going to find anything but what the hey......

Any sort of restriction on the suction side results in a lower filter pressure. So a full pump basket will result in lower filter pressure as well as impeller blockage. However, a dirty cartridge should result in higher pressure and cleaning should reduce the pressure. So more than likely, it was the pump basket causing the problem.
