Amato Inc. Industries (http://www.amatoind.com/taylor-testing-reagents-c-30_35.html) is my primaty supplier of Taylor test kit refills. Their prices are good, shipping is very speedy, and you can't beat the personal attention. Every time I've ordered from them I get a personal e-mail thanking me for the order and giving me shipping and tracking details, CC:'d to Joe Amato, President.

They carry refills in larger sizes: 375 g of DPD powder, R-0013 (CYA test) in pints and larger, and so on. If you keep these cool and dry they'll last for a long time. Mine are in the beer fridge down in the basement.

I know there is a financial benefit to Pool Forum (Pool Solutions) when someone orders a Taylor test kit via amazon.com and selects Amato as the vendor. I'm wondering if that extends to refills? I need to restock pretty soon. If I go to amazon.com and then to amatoind.com from there, will PF benefit from my order?

I'm interested to know the answer as well ... but don't buy so much that you don't have enough room for beer ;)

Heh! There's always room for beer and wine in that fridge.

Hi Anna,
Actually anything you buy from Amazon through that link makes a little money for PF. If you click on that link and navigate to anyplace on Amazon's website and order something, PF gets a little cut from the sale.

Okay, thanks. That's good to know.

I'm a little confused, when click on the 'Amazon' link in any of the mod's signatures it does not take me to Amazon; it goes directly to the Taylor website. What am I missing?

is this not the page you get when you click on the link in my signature?

http://poolsolutions.com/testkit-order-links.html

And, then from their, the next page should show you some kits and if you click on the name of the kit, it should take you to an Amazon page. Is that not what you are getting?

No. The links on the Pool Solutions page all go directly to Taylor Technologies.

Hmmm. That's not what I'm getting. I've alerted Ben to take a look and see what's going on. Thanks for letting us know.

That has to be something Amazon did; the URLs on the Poolsolutions page are hard-coded to Amazon.

I'm seeing Amazon now, too. Can you check again?

Watermom, the link in your sig. does take me to the pool solutions page with all the different kit information but the only links on the Pool solutions page is the name Taylor Tech. under the kit info. The actual names of the kits are not links.

I see what's happening.

The "Taylor Tech" link goes to Taylor, as intended. I assumed it would be obvious to others (since it was to me -- dumb, I know) that this was an info-only link, and that the purchase was via the Amazon photo related links.

I'll be working on that page next week, and will make it clearer.

I'm assuming that if you click the link in the Amazon box, it goes to Amazon?

OK, I know what the problem is now. I don't see the amazon box because I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser (as do many people). Ads are blocked so I need to allow them on this site in order to see them, which I just did and now I see the pictures and the links work perfectly. Had I seen them originally it certainly would have made sense. Maybe you could add a message to Firefox users to disable their adblock for this website.
Thanks, now I can order through the Pool Forum!!

One of the problems I have with Amato is, they don't seem to sell R-0014, only R-0004. And they pack everything in Styrofoam peanuts! (GRRR!) At least the starch peanuts aren't so electrostatic and you CAN wash them down the drain.

Thanks, good information!

Plus, the kitten likes to eat "peanuts" This is a dangerous problem when they are styro, but not when they are the starch peanuts.

I, too, use FireFox, sometimes Safari, and I have their adblock features enabled which means no 3rd party content gets through.

Carl, if you don't like the way Amato packages products, why not send them an e-mail? They're very responsive to customers' inquiries. And you're right, they do not carry R-0014. I asked about that and they said there's not enough call for it and the product would go old on their shelves. I buy mine at Leslie's down the road.
