I drained and refilled about 20% of my pool (about 7,000 gallons) a couple of weeks ago to get the calcium down. I will probably do the same again to get it below 400 (right now about 475). Also, I want to get my salt down a bit (3,500). Neither is awful, which is why I am not rushing.
But I have shocked the pool (using the salt water chlorine generator) and have a chlorine of about 2.0 on its way to 3.0. The water is much more clear, but still doesn't have the clarity I would like. I was thinking that adding a clarifier might be in order, especially with all the new water that I added.
Are they all the same? Should I even bother? At start up, the guy added Jack's Blue Magic -- I could just go with that.
