View Full Version : pH, what should it be? How long can I let it stay how low? Where should TA be?

pH was 7.2 this morning, still 7.2 this evening... this is following water getting fairly low due to heat, extended backwash, and leaky multiport. How long do I let it stay there, and should I be concerned at all? I unfortunately have .5 copper in the pool, so I don't want pH to drift too high.

TA is running around 110, where should it be, and how high do I let it go before I worry?

I would add a little Borax because I'd like to get the borates in there, but it looks like lowering alkalinity is no fun, especially since I have no jets that point toward the surface, waterfallls, etc.

I believe in most pools 7.2-7.8 is the ideal range. TA 60-130 (although I've seen others post much tighter ranges around the same median). http://www.poolsolutions.com/gd/poolsolutions-basic-swimming-pool-chemistry-guide.html

Kelemvor is correct. Anywhere between 7.2-7.8 is fine. Also, your alk is ok at 110.
