So I just left the nearest Namco branch annoyed. I've run out of CYA. No CYA, not Tri-Chlor, no Di-Chlor. So I went there and do they have CYA? No. They have "Stabilizer and Conditioner". What's that? Why it's Cyunaric Acid AND Sodium Carbonate. No Stabilizer. No 100% CYA.
They've mixed CYA with Soda Ash, clearly because Soda Ash is a cheaper product, but raises both pH and Total alkalinity. My pH is perfect, my TA is perfect. I haven't seen my pH change in 6 weeks!
Very frustrating.

Yes, that would upset me too. I don't like marketing manipulation.
If you can't find any straight CYA please let me know and I'll pick some up here and get it to you.

Hey Carl !
I know your in my home state of NJ, have 'Odd Lots' or 'Job Lots', or similar hit there yet? (I left 30 years ago - it was the smell of the Hudson- LOL) I got 5 lbs for ~ $13 last time I went to 'Ocean State Job Lot' (maybe not the best price, but I needed some and I needed their $3/ gal of 12.5% liquid chlorine - (I can't beat that deal anywhere else).

Thanks, AnnaK. Went by another store that always has it but they were closed. I know a whole bunch...I just went to the closest.
Job Lot Trading (now gone) was owned by a friend of my dad and his brother. The original store was somewhere 'way down town. Amazing bargains! And the fastest cashiers in the East. The owner paid top dollar to the cashiers because they were SO fast and could multitask. They moved so much merchandise so fast--you NEVER saw checkout lines move like that. No scanners back then--all marked or memorized prices!
Odd Lot is a different company. Definitely lacks the "cool" factor of Job Lot. Harbor Freight tries to be similar but their quality isn't that high...cheap stuff at cheap prices.
