I was looking at pressure side pool sweeps and have narrowed it down to a couple (thanks waterbear).

The Kreep Krauly Legend and the Polaris 280. Both seem preety good.

My question is why is there such a price difference on different websites. For example...I found a Kreep Krauly on one site for $529.00 and $349.95 on another site (it even had a $100.00 rebate to make it $249.95). Is there something that I am not getting with the cheaper price tag? None of these prices where for used products.

My wife and I are still new at this and I didn't want to get stuck with something that is "too good to be true".

Thanks.

Anybody have any experience on this?

I'll just note that the Internet abounds with odd "deals" like this. Some are great deals others
are scams. I always check with the company's local BBB when dealing with a business I've
never used before. Certainly no guarantee but better than nothing.

What do you mean by "BBB"?

Better Business Bureau. (Around here, our version of BBB is bleach, borax and baking soda!)

It looks like some of the sites include a booster pump and some do not, I think this accounts for the bulk of the difference.

Okay...after looking again I couldn't find the prices I found before (don't know what I did before), but I still found a difference in price for the Polaris 280.

For example on Amazon the Polaris 280 is $429.00 with $14.00 shipping and on intheswim for $599.00. Those are both without the booster pump. That seems to me like quite a price difference. The local pool place prices are in line with intheswim for the same product.

Look closely at the Amazon prices again. Sometimes it will list things that are used. I wonder if the one you saw on there was not new?

That was for the new one on Amazon. I still think I am going to go through in the swim though. I am too skeptical of the low prices.

Plus, I am going to be ordering a new diving board, test kit and the sweep. The more that I have thought about it, I think I feel more confortable going with a "known" pool website and getting everything all at one place.

Thanks for everyone's help.

I ended up getting the Polaris 280 at my local pool place. I decided I would rather spend it locally and they have the parts and can service it when needed.

Thanks for the help.
