Want to build my own pool

Hi All
I am building a new house and a pool right after closing, I would like to hear any good tips that I should think off before starting this journey. I am also interested in a solar solution that will run my pump during daylight hours. I live in Texas and will have South facing directly to my back roof. Any comments will be appreciated, Thanks

Solar solution -- as in solar electric panels -- to run your pump? That's almost a, "if you have to ask, you don't need the answer" question. There's some serious engineering and fiddling, as well as some serious $$$ required to answer that one.
