I was pleased to find this forum, but bummer to hear about the spam problems because I wasn't able to search for what I bet is a well-worn question.

Both fitting (think they're call in and out bulkheads) of my FNS 36 DE filter were leaking slightly. It's an old unit, but the pool is new to me. I was able to find a used bottom (supply) tube and good gasket, but can't seem to figure out how to remove/repair the upper (output) fitting. Can anyone suggest a good plan :-)

Thanks and Take care,

Richard in Texas

You can search -- the link is in the registration email, and in my signature.

The internal vBulletin search is only accessible to moderators and some subscribers, because vBulletin keeps having problems, BUT it does NOT work nearly as well as the Google custom search for finding answers to questions like yours. (It's better at moderator things like "List all the posts in the last month".)

However, you may or may not get find what you're looking for -- chemistry problems are the same the world over, but equipment is local and highly varied.

Anyhow, good luck!

Ben

I used a "strap-wrench" and just hoped that it was a threaded fitting -- it was. Basically, (looking here http://www.poolcenter.com/parts_filter_pac_fab_nautilus_fns.htm ) from 22 to the pipe was threaded with a single O-ring. Now removed cleaned and replaced, I'm going to test tomorrow. Glad I found this forum in any event.
