Early last year we bought a house that had an in-ground pool. When we first looked at the house the fall before, the pool was beautiful with sparkling blue water. Because we were out of town much of the summer, we never managed to open the pool. This year, we really want to open the pool but we're having a time with it. Especially because the diverter valve is sun-baked and most of the writing is gone from it, so we're not exactly sure which way to set it to do what. Here's what I know. The valve connectors are labeled Port 1, Port 2, and Port 3. On the valve itself, it says Di (torn) a-flo and on the left it says full (faded space) flow. From looking online, it looks the most like this: http://www.amazon.com/Hayward-PSV3SM-External-Diverter-Material/dp/B002EL3YRE%3FSubscriptionId%3DAKIAJ7TSPJOQEGXXSGBA %26tag%3Dgsyywzcom-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165 953%26creativeASIN%3DB002EL3YRE, So I'm guessing it's a Dial-a-flo and PSV3SM is the number for it, although when I visit the Hayward site, I can't find anything with that number or even anything with "a-flo" as part of the name...I can't even find anything about diverter valves on their site.

If I could find a manual online or even a picture of the top of the valve to know what the settings are, maybe we could figure it out, but all I've been able to find are places that are selling it, and side views, so I'm hoping that perhaps someone on here might be able to help.

Thanks so much!

Take some pictures and email them to me at poolforum AT gmail DOT com. I'll post them, and move your thread where some other people can look at it, and maybe recognize it.

These should be enough for someone to recognize the valve, if they can. By the way, if all else fails, you should be able to take the valve top off, and just look and see which way the baffle is oriented relative to the handle. (If you do, take pics and let me add them for future ref.)
