Hello Everyone!

I've been successfully taking care of my pool thanks to all of you for 2 years now!!! Anyway, a neighbor asked me to help open her pool that has been closed for over 2 years. Is this something that I could even tackle? I'm the things is a science experiment by now. If you could steer me in the right direction it would be really helpfull.

Thanks everyone,

Bill

Hook up the pump and filter and fill the pool with water if the level is too low to operate the pump. Scoop out as much debris as you can. Keep the pool at shock level (based on the cya level -- see the Best Guess chart in my signature below) as consistently as possible. Run the pump 24/7 while working to clear it, backwashing as needed. Once you have most of the debris off the bottom, you can brush the walls and floors. It will probably take a lot of bleach but it will clear up. Make sure you get the pH between 7.2-7.8. Keep us posted and come back if you have further questions. Glad to see you back on the forum this year! Hope this helps.
