Hello everyone,

Recently I've noticed a large build up of what I've been told is hard water on the surface of the tile lining my pool. After talking to a cleaning service they informed me that the bill would total around a thousand dollars. Given that piece of news, I'm interested in a more do-it-yourself approach and turn to this forum for some assistance. I'd prefer not to drain the pool, so the suggestions would be something that doesn't damage the filter system. Attached pictures below:

Additionally, one of the tiles has fallen off. It is my guess that the tile was accidentally picked up by the team that is responsible for maintaining the pool floor. I was wondering, assuming I can find the appropriate tile how difficult the repair would be. Attached picture below:

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Forum!

For $1000 I could probably afford to fly out to where you live, fix the problems, catch the next flight home and pocket a good portion of my rent. LOL

I can tell you how to easily deal with this yourself, but I need to know your chemical values first (your own testing with the Taylor K2006 is optimal, but even a pool store set of numbers would be OK for what I want to know).

Do you have the piece of tile that came off? If you don't and can't find the replacement, you can always just fill in the gap with 'pool mortar' to keep the other tiles surrounding it from loosening and falling off. (it looks to be pretty standard so finding a replacement oughtn't be too difficult)

I will look into getting the kit or the numbers today and reply back as soon as I have some results.
