So...I'm starting to understand how to take care of a pool, albeit, I'm still slightly confused. Now, being a new guy to the pool circuit, I'm still a slave to the pool store. I've got a Taylor test kit in the mail, etc, as I try to convert to the BBB method. However, it appears that CYA is something that I'll need to continue to buy at the pool store. Are there any online places that you suggest that I look so that I don't get ripped off at the pool store? If not, what is a good price for CYA?

Just trying to save a couple of bucks, you know? Thanks for your help.

Sometimes you can find it at Walmart, or maybe Lowe's. It is often called conditioner or stabilizer. Check the ingredient label. It should say cyanuric or isocyanuric acid. Not sure about price. I haven't bought any recently.

My WalMart has it, but it's in the section where the spa stuff is. It's labeled "conditioner", but as Watermom said, check your ingredient label.
Our Lowe's and Home Depot also carry it.

Thanks for the advice. There's no place to buy this stuff online at a cheap price? Sometimes, I feel like I'm getting ripped off when I go to the store, so that's why I'm checking with the experts.

I've never tried to get it online, so I guess you could look around--the only problem with online is that you need to make sure that what you're buying is straight stabilizer (cyanuric or isocyanuric acid) without a bunch of other stuff added.

For folks in New England, Ocean state Job Lot has 7 lbs for ~ $22, only until Wed.
