Last year I totally emptyed the sand, filled with 50 lbs of aquachem sand from Lowes. It said 50lbs was = to 100 lbs of regular sand. Is this true. Do I need more aqua chem stuff or just plane sand?
I was considering some DE to clear the water once I get the chemical in check.

Why did you empty all of your sand?

Previous owner said it needed to be changed. I was a pool NOOB and uneducated. I got the stuff at Lowes right next to DE stuff $25 a box. Pool worked fine last year.
So I need sand from the pool store? My filter holds 150lbs. It does not have a pressure guage how can I add one.
For those following my other thread...pool was drained to 12-14 inches left. Started hose last nite and shut it off about 8PM tonite. I got all the debris outta the pool and am now filtering it over nite. I used the strips for a quickie and the FC and TC was still at the top of color chart. I will test CYA in am and chlorine etc and go from there. Pool is cloudy but much better.

I'm sorry you aren't getting any replies. Apparently, nobody on the forum is familiar with this product.
