Hello,

I'm a new subscriber and would already like to say thank you for lots of sensible information that I've already read in this forum.

I'm planning a pool and would like to know if anyone has any experience with this new type of water purification called Magnapool (www.magnapool.com) and if they are happy with it. It uses salts of magnesium instead of sodium.

I would also like to know if it seems compatible with tiled pools as well as vinyl-lined ones, in a climate that has significant swings in temperature from summer to winter.

Thanks very much.

I'd never heard of it, so I went to the site.

What IMMEDIATELY set off my "bogus product alarm" was the prominent Parkinson's disease relief captioned photo -- a highly, highly dubious claim. My experience has been that folks who lie about one aspect of their product will lie about ALL aspects of their product. The more I dug in, the more symptom of bogosity I found. "Magnapool hydroxinator"??

I'm not sure if English is your native language or not, and I don't know if the site is original in English or another language, but to a native speaker with a good 'ear' a 'made-up' word like "hydroxinator" is highly suspicious. (More checking: it originated in Australia, so they KNEW that "hydroxinator" was a bogus word.)

I couldn't find any pages that actually explained how it worked -- the "How Magnapool Works" page explained nothing -- but the 'flavor' of the site was the same as that of many, many bogus pool product sites I've seen over the years.

My suggestion: stay away, far away from that product.
