Help... dog tore vinyl liner!!!

I'm new to this forum, but I would appreciate some help...

I just opened the pool, and my son's dog absolutely tore up the top step of the liner.

It is a vinyl inground pool, the tear is probably 3 feet x 6 inches; he evidently got a hole started and grabbed it and peeled back most of the top step!

Is this something that can be repaired?

Doesn't sound repairable to me, but I'll see of others have ever successfully tackled something like that.

Oh, that sounds bad. I guess you have nothing to lose by trying to fix it. Do you have a spare piece of vinyl and some Boxer glue? Probably wouldn't look great, but since there is the possiblilty that you may have to replace the liner, what do you have to lose? Someone else may have other ideas. Good luck.
