Happy spring folks,
I've always wondered if my pump is the right size for my filter. The problem is that I don't understand "dynamic head".
I've got a Tagelus TA-50D sand filter. It's rated at 50gpm.
My pump is a Sta-Rite P6E6E 1hp
The pool is about 25 - 30 (or so) feet from the pump, but I've got the option of running a solar panel heater that's about 20' above pump level on the roof. The pump is about 2 feet below skimmer level & even w/ the return.
If it matters, my pool is about 13' x 24'
5 ft deep in the deep and and 3 ft deep in the shallow end (split pretty 50/50.
I'm thinking (from the curves on the Pentair page) that my pump is oversized. If I'm right, short of buying a new pump, is there something that I should do to help the situation? I've seen sand in my backwash.
Thanks!
-Rob
