My pool arrived today. Everything was ready to install this weekend, but its raining cats and dogs and flooding the back yard. So much for putting up the pool this weekend. Guess I'll read the forum.

That can be a good indication of what you need to do in the backyard. Make sure you put weeping tile around your pool so that it doesn't flood under your pool. That way you will keep the sand under the pool that you worked hard to put there. Just a thought. :)

Aranon, I have no clue what weeping tile are but I sure hope the rain stops and you can get started soon. We are all on standby to make sure this works well for you.

Later, Dennis

I haven't heard that phrase either, but the good advice you're getting is to make sure there will be no standing water under or around your pool. Your sand can and very well may erode if you do not provide proper drainage. :)

Weeping tile is drainage pipes.
In the old days they were made of clay tile. Often had holes or slits in them so water can weep into the pipe to be carried away.

Weeping tile, drainage tile, etc. does the same thing. Being a pool novice when my sister and I installed my pool, I didn't do tile. But after noticing the runoff from the bank behind my pool, you can bet I installed it the following spring. My yard isn't a swamp now and I'm positive my sand and cove are intact.
