I will be installing a relocated ABG pool in the next week or two. Since I am having the ground professionally graded it will be level, but my question is regards to the sand. Should it only be within the walls of the pool, or should it be leveled and extended beyand the rails, with the rails placed on top? I have read where blocks need to be put under the rails. Would it make sense to use pavers or something similar to create a hard level foundation for the entire rail and use sand from there? Thanks.
Blocks under the posts; Sand on the inside. You want the rails on top of the ground. Is there a concern about the ground under the rails sinking or being unstable for some reason? Remember, there is really no constant 'top-down' pressure on the pool wall. This is a good video to watch for general installation http://www.nationwidepools.com/round-pool-instruction-video.php

So after three weeks of rain we are grading this Saturday. The pool is an 18 by 33. I have the paperwork from the original install and they ordered 6 tons of sand. I am assuming I will need the same. Does anyone have any imput on that. Also, the ground where the pool is being located is extremely wet this time of year. It usually dries by the first week of June but with all the rain this year I sense we are looking at third week of June. I got to thinking perhaps it makes sense to put some drainage under the pool. Has anyone done this? Do I even need to worry about it once installed?
