We are looking to build a new pool this spring, getting started as soon as the weather breaks. Since I am a general contractor and either own or have access to labor and equipment used for pool construction, I am having a hard time with the thought of subcontracting the whole job out. Not to mention what guys up this way want for a pool.

I think I have narrowed the pool down to a simple vinyl 16x32 rectangle diving unit (approx 22k gal) salt water, but I am not sure about the pump/filter/lighting, etc. . I feel comfortable digging, assembling running mechanicals and flatwork but bottom finish, installing the liner and those things that I know that I don't know are bugging me.

If there is anyone in the area that is interested in consulting for beer or a fee, I would be happy to discuss the project with you. If no one is close enough, I am hoping this forum can get me thru the project with minimal pain.

Thank you
Ian

If you're already a contractor, you can always use your own pool as a trial platform- learn everything you can, change it next year and learn more...
Just kidding- getting someone to show you the ropes is the way to go if possible!
