I recently had a pool built built by a licensed contractor. Toward the end of the project, I asked for partial lien releases from all subcontractors before I paid my final payment of $1400. They said no problem and then dragged their feet fixing a couple of small things.
Well it's been about 4 months and they still haven't provided any partial lien releases from any subs. They say it is not necessary because they will give me a final Release of Lien for the entire project.
I have not received any "Notices to Owner" from any subs, but I still think they should have to provide these lien releases. It's unfortunate, but I don't trust them and I have a feeling they (pool contractor) will try and lien me for not paying the final payment because I am waiting for what they promised.
I really want to be done with this and pay up and move on, but I don't think I am asking for too much. There is stain on the pavers from when they did the pool finish. They came out 2 weeks ago and pressure cleaned it, however when the deck dried, the stain was still there?
The stain is about two feet long. Do you think I should accept the stain? What's your thoughts on the lien releases?
