Hi I just bought a house with an above ground pool. My first pool. The deck is old, not safe and needs to be upgraded. I want to make it bigger and have it wrap the pool a bit. The skimmer would need to be moved. Is this easy enough for an average guy to do or should I call in a pro? What can I expect to pay to close the old hole and relocate the skimmer? Thanks !

Welcome to the forum!
Moving the skimmer isn't too big a deal. However, you'd need to not only patch the wall were it was but also, patch or replace the liner.
An easier way of dealing with this would be to incorporate a lid in the new deck for skimmer access. Folks who have decks all the way around their AG pools might be able to post pics of what I'm talking about.
Good luck with the new deck!

I'm not sure how easy this is but what if you emptied the pool and simply rotated the pool such that skimmer is where you want it. Avoids having to patch it. Of course the returns would move as well but that is probably less of an issue.

thanks for the response. Yeah, I would love to see pictures. I have this vision of something ugly and obvious. But it does sound like the much easier and smarter thing to do.
Thanks Again

You might have to be patient for the pics - a bunch of us still have 2' of snow:eek:
