I have a Pentair Intellichlor that I think might have a bad flow switch. When I run the pump normally the Flow light is red. If I turn a manual valve coming from the filter about a quarter of the way closed it raises the filter pressure from 10 to 14 and then the flow light on the Intellichlor turn from red to green. My guess is that the switch works with the higher pressure. How much pressure is needed for the switch? Is the switch bad?
Thank You,

Pentair uses a flow switch instead of a pressure switch. The flow switch should activate around 15 - 20 gpm. Increased pressure should not affect the flow switch other than maybe negatively...opposite from what you're describing.
Check and make sure the flow switch is positioned correctly to the flow. That is, check the inlet side of the cell and ensure that the flow paddle is positioned so that the flow pushes it towards the center post on the flow switch.
Its possible that the flow switch is bad too.
