Hi Im wondering were to buy 2 2in. pvc unions ,I want to build a bipass tube to replace my intellichlor salt generator they want almost most $50 for one that is to much for what they are ,but the unions at home depot ect wont work they have the wrong thread nothing wrong with the generator I just want to remove it when Im gone in the summer to keep my ph down .....thanks

Do you have solid PVC pipes? if so you can use glued fittings.

The unions are non standard so you are stuck getting them from Pentair I am afraid. You can search the net for the part number to see if you can find them for less money.

FWIW, goldline onwers are in the same boat as you. the unons are non standard and only sold for a ridiculous price.

I fear you mistunderstood. The OP is talking about the threads that screw into the salt cell.

If there is enough room on either side of the cell, couldn't you just install two standard unions, one on each side? That would allow you to open the line at the (new) outer unions and remove the cell with it's unions and all, and replace the whole assembly with a pipe.

Never dealt with salt syatems but if you just shut the system down I would think the water chemistry wouldn't be affected. Therefore why bother removing the cell?

thanks for the response and ideas I found a dead cell at a pool store for 20 much easier....thanks Brad
